This past Sunday was March 4th. A friend of mine posted this:
“A dear friend of mine said, “March 4th, it’s the only day of the year that tells you what to do!” Ever since then I have honored this day. It reminds me to take hold of my dreams, do something crazy, live life to the fullest! Don’t let fear hold you back… so today I challenge you to MARCH FORTH! Pursue your dreams, otherwise how will you become the person God created you to be?! It’s the only day of the year that tells you what to do!”
This post, as cheesy as some may think it is, got me really excited. I think it is great to have a day a year that pushes you to take that next step towards whatever it is that you’re working towards. March fourth towards your goals and dreams. For me, this march fourth told me to finalize my application, resume, and cover letter to send off to all the internships I am shooting for for this summer.
In order to celebrate the day, a few friends and I took off work on Monday, March 5, (in observance of course), and headed down to the beach. We relaxed in the sun, enjoyed good company, and then went out for a fancy dinner in Laguna. It was a most fabulous day. At dinner we all discussed what goals we intend to work toward this year and what practical steps we are taking to get there.
This year March 4th celebration was a first for me, but I do intend to take it as a personal holiday every year from here on out.
