I love to read. Snuggling up with a good novel is one of my favorite leisurely activities, but unfortunately due to the amount of reading I have to do for school I rarely have time for leisure reading. Fortunately, this past week of spring break with it’s rainy days made a prime time for some reading and my series of choice: The Hunger Games.
To start off my spring break I headed to Vegas with a couple fabulous girlfriends. To keep me entertained on the four hour drive, I picked up the first book of The Hunger Games that several of my friends have told me about. I didn’t have any idea what I was getting myself into, but when I started reading it on my way home from Vegas, I couldn’t put the book down until it was finished.
I read all three of the Hunger Games novels over my week vacation. It was an exhilarating read and of course I topped it off with seeing the midnight showing of The Hunger Games movie.
Several of my friends have all read the books and we literally could sit around and talk about the storyline and events as if it was real events. I loved being able to read a great storyline and share it with so many friends, the popularity of the book series made it seem almost as if I was in a giant book club with several of my friends.
Hopefully this quarter I won’t be too swamped with textbook reading that I could have time for some leisurely reading, but now I just have to find the next book to suck me into its storyline.
